Halloween-y Fun

Does it surprise anyone that my jack-o-lantern face is insane?

Everybody help yourself to some candy! Now there won't be any pranks on me, right? The thing is, I live on the 3rd floor, so no one comes to my door, which is fine by me, cuz then I don't have to buy candy!

Kailani is having a costume contest, if you're interested. Starting Nov 1, you could head over and vote for me for best adult costume!

Last year, I was the queen of hearts (what did I do with that cape? I could wear it all the time and be the queen that I am!). A few years before that, I was a magic 8-ball. :) I was Buffy the year before that, and I still have the wooden stake!

And while there may be better pet costumes entered into the costume contest, I don't know if there are any more appropriate ones.

What will you be for Halloween?

Oh, and I entered a punkin in Leanne's pumpkin carving contest. I'm a'scairt of knives, so mine's not exactly "carved". But there are some really good ones entered!

I'm in a 2nd floor condo, and I get no trick-or-treaters at all. When I moved in, I thought I'd get hundreds of 'em.
When we were little, apartment buildings and condos were Gold Mines. Now, parents only take kids to people they know, and to parties and whatnot.
Plus, I have a black cat, so maybe I'm just too spooky?

Happy Hallowe'en!

Your eight-ball costume is "da bomb". Love it!
Mr Pooh Bear doesn't seem too amused, though...

We're hiring a scary movie and pretending we're not home this Halloween. Hope you have a good one too!

Hi Carmen!

I will definitely head over to vote for you tomorrow. *s* I took the quiz & it was fun! *s*

Carmen, you know if you really like the hat and glasses you could get a photo of me like that at my cafe press store... and you know--it could double as a Halloween Costume for next year. You could say you were my campaign manager! (Unless of course you really wanted the job. Heaven knows Gemini just isn't organized enough!)

Nice costumes for this year though.

I didn't get any of me this weekend doing the Mary Poppins thing. Tonight, I'm neurotic mom as I take my kids trick or treating though.

Magic 8-Ball...BAH-RILLIANT! I've been playing with my Magic 8-Ball a lot recently.

You know...very important decisions to make!

Pooh a devil? I'm not buying it!

Carmen,

Just because you live on the third floor is no reason to NOT buy candy. You can always suffer and eat it yourself. That is what my wife does. Of course she only buys her favorites. :)

When we lived in the appartments the folks on the upper floors would leave a bucket of candy on the bottom floor or would just come downstairs to hand it out to save us all from climbing the stairs. Love the costumes and like you, my jack-o-lantern face is insane.

re: Prada...yeah, not on my fav book of all time list, but I enjoyed reading it. I told K that I didn't like how she started out with the "flashback" that didn't go anywhere. And more traveling books is a great idea...lemme check my library to see what else I wanna send on.

I LOVE the Magic 8 ball costume! That is just awesome!!!!! I'm not good enough for the pumpkin carving contest. I just do mine for fun...not tricks here. I'm not buying that pooh is a devil though!

I got like nine trick-or-treaters last year.

At my age (good grief, I make it sound like I'm 80), it's a joy to see the kids in their costumes and having so much fun.

But yeah, I buy candy and just eat the rest myself, too.

I like your magic 8 ball idea. I can never think of creative costume ideas.

I swear us Aussies have no party in us. There like halloween, huh whats that?? I wore ghost earrings today and handed out lollies at work and they ask me why and I say its halloween?! They are so not into it here like you guys. I think i have to pack up Rob and Miss Whitley and head over there for Halloween next year!!

Hope you have a good one!

Does this mean we get to shake you and turn you over for the answer? How do you manage to keep your hair so neatly in place if that's the case? Does this also mean you have blue, glowing blood like a Magic 8-Ball?

So many questions now because of these revelations...goodness!

Terrific costumes! ;)

I was right, you do sorta look like Chloe from "Smallville" (real name: Allison Mack).

Happy Halloween!

Hi Carmen -- the candy corn reminds me of my sister, who has always loved the stuff.

Wendy sent me! :)

i freaking love the 8-ball...

OK, so I'm not sure if Pooh looks more comfortable than my guy. I put up a little Hallowe'en tribute to the "black cat that crossed my path".

I wouldn't dare put red ears on him! :)

The kitty looks great! Mine would kill me if I tried to do that. Ha!

We carved 4 pumpkins tonight and I made one of them with an "Insane" face...I think it came out the best of all of them. Will post a picture later.

Susan (5 Minutes For Mom) said...

I too love the 8-ball. Very unique. And so good of you to dress up... I'm too lazy and never do.

What did you dress as this year? I couldn't find the photo..
