Carmen News!

Hey all! It's the weekend, and that deserves a happy dance.

First, I have a request. If you are on Facebook, would you please visit my blog network and confirm that I am the author of this Gone to Plaid blog? (Who else would I be?)

Second, I have great news! I am self-publishing my book. After too many rejection letters from publishers, saying it was a great book but they couldn't sell it, I thought "well, you're just not trying hard enough!"

So I have a new blog for the book, and I hope you'll all head over and check it out. I'm planning all kinds of fun stuff over there as soon as I get the preliminaries finished (right now, I'm just finishing up with the cover design.) I'm going to have a virtual booksigning for all of my blog friends. I'm going to have a virtual launch party. It's going to be a fun place over there!

The List

Here's the Facebook Fan page, I hope you'll all become fans. And if you're not on Facebook, why not? It's cool.

Oh have a lot of fun with this book blog!!! You're my kinda gal.

As for the question you asked about my voting experience, it was nothing, nothing to boast about.

It was all quite mundane since I've been voting for nearly 40 years on several elections, every two years and of course every presidential election. I do my homework from the primary months beginning in February and now that I live in Texas, we have early voting. As long as you're registered before 30 days prior to the election, you can vote early.

The voting process is quite simple, long lines, friendly people. I always take a book with me while waiting. I don't like talking politics to those around me. I go with my mind made up, and know just for whom and how I'll vote.

The machines this time around worked wonderfully, got logged in by the precinct reps at the table, waited for a booth to open, went in...filed my voting number, and clicked away! The whole process of voting took about 10 to 15 minutes. Waiting in line TO VOTE was about an hour or so.

And yes, Anni from Texas of course can be used.

question completely unrelated to this post: um, why do your posts say "by carmen and jim"? when do we hear from the "and jim" part of this duo?! :)
