I don't know how I always get to your Travel Tuesday late, but yes, this is certainly Australia. Not sure that it's Sydney, though. Maybe Alice Springs?
What do you mean "date update ...tomorrow!!!" can hardly handle it... No idea about your pic, but zeus seems a smart cat and I can read his comment while I'm typing this, so I will say Australia! :)
Oooh, oooh, I know this one. For real this time. The outback! Alice Springs maybe? Or Cairns? Although I forget if Cairns is a seaside town or in the middle of the outback.
I'm guessing Australia, but not necessarily Sydney. Looking at the direction of each of those street signs indicates that Tokyo was North, Wahington was to the East (and across an ocean and country, and that Johannesburg was to the west. This is more Melbournish terrain though, I think (having never been there)

With confidence I say it is Cairns Australia in the second shot. The first one is Australia...the outback. ;)
