Thursday 13 v.10

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen reasons CARMEN loves her mom

Mother's Day edition :)
  1. My mom makes this dish called chicken goulash. It's really good.
  2. She stood up for me with a few of the awful teachers I had in school.
  3. She encouraged my musical abilities.
  4. She helped me move more times than I can count.
  5. When she visits me, she cleans my house.
  6. She thinks I'm beautiful
  7. We talk on the phone every day.
  8. She loves my dad and I never had to grow up in a broken home.
  9. She cries when Charlie Brown doesn't get a valentine, even though she's watched it 100 times.
  10. She is a retired teacher, but her kids still talk to her when they see her out and about. She was a really good teacher.
  11. She loves my cat, and lets him visit with me, even though she is overly anal about cat hair
  12. She prays for me every day.
  13. She loves me, unconditionally. And I love her right back!

I KNEW your mother was a wonderful person! Even before you told me -- I just knew it! And she and I have a few things in common -- most importantly we BOTH think you're beautiful! But also, I'm a substitute teacher! (might be soon retired!) LOL! Carmen, this was a very sweet tribute to your mama, and I know she's going to shed a tear when she reads it! (if she hasn't already...) You're a good girl!

Aww, Happy Mother's Day to your mom!

I think it's adorable when teachers remember their students after a few years have passed. How neat that so many people have such fond memories of her, that would make me so proud!

How did I not think of a Mother's Day TT? Shame on me! Great list. I especially think that #11 is important. My mom has really stepped outside of herself by not only tolerating my 2 Danes but loving and caring for them. When Atlas was in his Addisonian crisis and we thought he was going to die, she cried right along with me and told me how much she loved him. It really touched me! Also, thanks for stopping by my blog.

Don't forget to buy some flowers for your Mum on Sunday!

Great idea for TT! Being a mom, and am now at a crossroads with oldest daughter. She plays the violin beautifully, but because her friend doesn't want to play anymore my daughter wants to follow her, I've had to encourage her to keep it up even though she doesn't think she plays good!! Sounds like your Mom did a wonderful job raising you!
Happy TT!

Wow! 94 comments! Will you even see mine?

This is too sweet. I really must think through reasons I love my mom.

I popped over, seeming to remember that you're a photographer, to see if you'd like to enter the photo contest at the Dabbling Mum. You can learn about it by checking out my Apr 26 post. Tell all the photographers you know, too! I want some more competition!

No, I'm not on the DM staff. Just spreading the word.

Your mom sounds great!

So sweet...isn't it nice when you see what a great person your mom is? I know people who totally freak out when their moms come to visit, but my mom is like yours...she cleans (but not in a judgemental way) and always makes sure the guest bedroom is ready for the next person...Hope I am as well thought of when my kids are grown...

She sounds like a wonderful mom. My mom stood up for me also in the 2nd grade.
