A Case of the Mondays

Well, my trip to Charleston wasn't all I had hoped it would be. Sigh. We cut the trip short by one day to save money on the hotel and escape the uber crappy weather. It rained for 3 days. Bleck. We did manage to take a tour around downtown Charleston, which was BEAUTIFUL, the only hour of our trip sans showers. My Thursday 13 will likely be 13 of my favorite pictures, despite the gray skies.

We also drove around one morning with a realtor to look into the city, the neighborhoods, etc. My general impression was "eh." Nothing made me want to say "oooh, I must move here now!" I don't think it was all Jim was hoping for either, because we're now looking into other cities. Plus, honestly, I think it was just too far from home.

He also found out today that his plant is closing in January, which may kick him in the butt and make him decide what he wants to do. Just gives me something else to worry about.

Which is why I'm especially enjoying the Halloween/Fall treat that Hootin' Anni gave me.

Well now... seems like the trip served it's purpose! Showed ya both that it wasn't what you're looking for and to move on to other ideas!

Don't worry about Jim's job - give it to God and let Him worry for ya! Works for ME! I'll toss my prayers in there for good measure...

Anni's right - your blog is a delight! (and have I mentioned lately how VERRRRRRRRY happy I am for you?... yea... I am!)

ITA with Melli. You didn't say why you thought about Charleston in the first place, but perhaps someplace closer is what is in the plans. Hang in there, I'm sure the perfect place will make itself known when the time is right.

Well at least you know now. We've been doing a bit of that but our move is farther out (retirement in about 10 to 15 years). We'll see where we end up.

I hope that something new shows up for Jim and I'm sure it will when he decides what he wants to do!

I'm sorry to hear the trip wasn't as successful as you had hoped. :(

Well, it's at least a good thing that you saw that it was NOT the right choice before moving there.... A step on the right way.

Looking for the right new home can take some time... I know, because we've been looking for quite a while, but not so very active. I believe it will come the day it's the right thing to do.

...and it can go very fast then!
