Sorry for the prolonged blogging absence. You're probably asking "Where's she been?" I've been writing my little patootie off. I took on a freelance travel writing gig, where I was assigned 222 destinations to write 150-word blurbs about. At first glance, that doesn't seem like a lot, but when you add research to the mix, it took me nearly two weeks to complete.
It was interesting, though, because there were a lot of places that I didn't even know EXISTED, much less were tourist destinations. Who knew that Bulgaria had beaches? It seems the Black Sea coast is quite the draw. So is Bali, and Cyprus, and . . . I could go on and on.
I also learned about Sun City, South Africa. I knew about it from that song in the 80s where the music industry said they "ain't gonna play Sun City" but I never really knew what a Las-Vegas like experience it was supposed to be. And if I didn't want to go on safari before, I definitely do after researching Tanzania and Kenya.
Like my list of places I want to go needed to get any longer. :)
In September, one of my "want to go" destinations will be checked off my list. Check back for the reveal of where that will be!

Yes, just keep me in suspense about where you'll be going.
What a fun writing job though!
Awwwwwwww, you give us a spoiler but absolutely no clues? And we have to wait 'til September? Okay then, if you insist. :o)
Writing for cash! COOL!
Welcome back.
oo i'm looking forward to hearing where you're going next. That's alot of writing...if you times 222 by 150...that's a lot of words...sounds like fun though. You always have awesome information on travel. Like I didn't know that the place with white walls and blue roofs was santorini until I saw your blog.
I would love to travel to 222 different places and write about them, but I'm assuming there was very little travel involved in your assignment.
I wanted to go to Kenya too, but with tribal unrest constantly in the news here, I don't feel very inspired to buy that ticket yet!
Maybe when the time comes, I'll head to Namibia or Botswana...
