We Survivied

As I mentioned in my post below, "the guy" and I had our first weekend away together this past weekend. We headed to the beach Thursday night, and came back Sunday morning. That was nearly three days of being together. Guess what? We survived.

We had some mild times of frustration (ie: getting WAY lost) but mostly, we had a really great time. Friday was my favorite day - we drove to the boardwalk, rented bikes, sat on the beach, walked to the shops, played putt-putt (I won, and my prize is a to-be-claimed-later massage) and just had a great day. We came back to the house, took a nap, and then got dressed up and went out for a nice meal, which was AWESOME by the way. We took what would have been some great pictures of the two of us together if I hadn't blinked in nearly all of them (not ready to post his face all over the Internet yet). But I think one or two may be salvagable. Saturday was more of a relaxed day, and still nice. I think the "playing house" helped move us along.

I'm just learning that there's so much more I need to learn about being in a relationship. At this point, I'm still having trouble knowing when to say what I'm thinking or when to just let things play out. For example, he doesn't understand why I want him to be the one to initiate phone calls. I don't understand why he can't just be the one to initiate the phone calls. See? It's very confusing. :) But this weekend marked three months since we met, which I can say is probably my longest relationship ever, so already I'm a step up.

Pooh had a pet sitter for the weekend, who left me kitty report cards (how cute is that?) and she said that Pooh was a sweet kitty. He did a good job of snowing her. ;)

AND I have tickets to the 7:30 show of Harry Potter on opening night at the movies, so I'm really looking forward to that. Only 2 weeks until the last book. So exciting and so bittersweet all at the same time.

That's the Carmen update. Exciting as it is.

yeah, you survived! without even a tiny little fight!!! your weekend sounds fun, fun,and you even have a to-be-claimed-later massage pending, nice perspective :)

Take it easy, it seems you two are on the right path. And yeah for Pooh for being such a lovely kitty (yes: a kitty's report card is very cute!)

Awww! Good for you Carmen! I'm totally rootin' for ya.

As for Pooh... Tai and Pretty (the siamse I'm owned by) are pretty good at convincing people that they are love starved snuggle bunnies when they're really hell on 8 paws... so I totally understand the Pooh.

Yeah! I'm glad you had a good time. I think the man should just do what you say. After all, that's my philosophy on life in general anyway... but my human says sometimes men don't much like phones. Our human male only called her like once before they moved in together. He HATES phones.

I'm so glad you had a good time! Did you go to VA Beach? I used to love to rollerblade there :-) Where did you eat?

My friend's cousin won 4 tickets to see the sneak preview of Harry Potter tomorrow night, and she gave me one! WOOHOO! I cannot WAIT!

It sounds like you had a good weekend with JC. It's never easy learning the "together dance" but it sounds like you're making progress and that's a good thing.

Congrats on the weekend! If you can survive the frustrations of getting lost, that's a really good sign! :)

I have midnight tickets for HP tomorrow night! Very exciting! Bring on the Pot(ter)!

I'm back from California and catching up on my blogging, and of course, you are on my to-read list!

Ooo La La! It's sounding quite interesting. And 3 months into it, HE should NO LONGER have to initiate phone calls... (just my opinion)...

Have fun at the Potter thing... I'm supposing Guy likes Potter too.

UM. I think that "OTHER" message up there from "Me" isn't from ME! I think that was Lazy Daisy on MY name! ROFL!!! But... I'm busy living vicariously on Susan's cruise!!! LOL!

woohoo on 3 months carmen! you rule :) I don't blame you about not wanting to blaster JC's face all over the place :) How about more pics of the house or pooh instead?

Aww, kitty report cards. That is sweet!

Glad you had a good weekend. As a guy, the calls wouldn't be a big deal to me after three months, as long as one person wasn't doing all the calling.

I was checking in to see how the weekend went with the guy and I am glad to hear it went well. Want to encourage you to keep learning about relationships - even after 6 years of marriage I am still learning - it's a never ending process. Hope you enjoyed HP!
