I had it out . . .

With my annoying neighbor.

First, he called me on Saturday to ask me if I could burn a picture CD for him. Um, are you calling any of your OTHER neighbors to ask them this question? I was bad. I lied and said my computer wasn't working. I guess I'll get dinged for that one - I find that you always pay when you lie. But maybe God will understand that I am SO OVER this neighbor.

THEN, he called me Sunday night (he never says who he is, BTW. He always assumes that I know it's him. Grrrrr) to ask me if my TV was working. WTF? He told me that Planet Earth was coming on at 8, to be sure and watch it. OMG! Get over yourself. First, I'm aware of the show, I've been DVRing it all week, and second, how dare you tell me what to watch like you know me.

So I called him back, shaking because 1) I hate confrontation and 2) I was steaming mad. As nicely as possible, I told him that I felt smothered, and that he needed to get a grip. (I was actually pretty nice about it, surprisingly.) He apologized, so let's hope the harrassment stops. If it doesn't, I'm going to call him on it, and tell him that if he can't handle it, just stop talking to me all together.

CNT! CNT! Creepy Neighbor Tendencies!

Alert! Alert!

Maybe it's time to train Pooh as an attack cat.

I think you are handling this really well. I don't know what I would do in a similar situation... probably sneak in and out of the house, pretend I wasn't at home and screen every phone call. Not very mature, eh? And frankly who wants to feel like they are hiding in their own home? Confronting him is definitely the way forward -- well done for having the balls to do it!

You have creepy neighbors already?! Couldn't he have waited a month for you to settle in?!?! Dayyyum.

Ah. The argument for detached houses.

Just teasing you... I hope that this situation is resolved soon.

He called? Does that mean you gave him your number?

None of my neighbors know my number :)

Yes, Bone, he has my number. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Silly me.

And this is why I'm a bit standoffish :-)

hmmm very strange. Glad you sorted it out. I probably would have been all "get out of my face" about it!

Hopefully he leaves you alone. Is he some old guy who is lonely?

OMG!! Two confrontations in 1 week? You totally rock. What big, uh, you know whats you have my dear. Good for you!

There's a limit to the amount of attention you need. Sounds like you handled it well.

I think you handled it quite well. I would consider changing your phone number...but you may be lucky and he'll give up with just the conversation you had. Good luck, I hope he isn't dense.

Is he, by chance, related to the travel agent? If not, maybe you can set them up on a blind date!

Are you a creep-magnet, Carmen? My Agent tried having HER creep-magnet surgically removed, but she still struggles. :D

The price of being nice, huh?

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear... I am surely sending some prayers on this one! Good luck sweety!

I've totally been wondering how this worked out. I hope he GOT it. Good for you for telling him. It does seem creepy.

I give you credit. I'm non-confrontational, too and I don't know if I would have said anything. It sounds like you handled it well. Hope things with him get better soon!

I think you handled it well. Sometimes with these type of people you can't just drop hints. You have to be pretty direct, as hard as it is to do. Not my style either.

Give us an update later!
