My To Do List

I've made a list of all the things I have to do with my move. It keeps getting longer and longer and longer. :)

At least the home inspection is done. It went very well. A few minor, expected items, but certainly nothing major. It is now officially pending sale and will be mine, all mine :)

I had some painters come by yesterday during the home inspection to give me estimates on painting the place. WHEW! Can you say expensive? The former owner didn't tape off when she painted, so she has paint all over the ceilings. So the painters are telling me that I probably want to paint the ceilings. But they are that stupid textured popcorn-y ceilings. Anybody ever paint those? I didn't think that painted very well. But all the painters say they can do it. I was thinking maybe crown moulding might be another option. I REALLY don't want to paint those stupid ceilings.

I splurged and bought some artwork to go in the new home. I've wanted a triptych for like - EVER - and the artist sold this set to me for a good price on Ebay. I know art is subjective, and you don't have to love it - but I do. I love music, and the colors are fabulous, and I can't wait to put it up in the new digs.

I'm not a huge fan of big art, but I LOVE the colors! They are going to look wonderful in a room that can pull together all those colors. Why not just go with crown moulding? I wouldn't want to paint those ceilings either, so I don't blame you one bit!

If you like it, that's all that matters! Make sure you put up lots of your beautiful photos, too :-)

Beautiful tri trip thing! Same colors I have in my house, actually. Are you talking about painting the ceilings in your new place? Why would you have to paint them in the place you already sold? I'm confused. Anyway, if it's the new place, I think crown molding would be cool. Old place, just paint.

Why don't you do your own painting? Maybe even have some friends help.

I am by no means handy, but indoor painting is something I would never pay someone else to do.

Go to Home Depot, they will tell you everything you need to know about painting, and you'll save a boatload of cash, too.

That is actually a great art set. The colors are perfect! I'm sure they'll look wonderful in your new home.

to paint the ceiling, they'll have to use a sprayer. They may use the sprayer on the walls too...it's quicker. But you should find out if they'll use a roller over the spray.

If you're considering painting it yourself the crown mouldings are a good idea...get the resin ones. I know they cost more, but the wood ones are a PAIN IN THE BUTT because they warp. We had to get some 3 inch nails to "convince" the wood to go up in our dining room.

Very cool. I like the colors, and it will definitely brighten up the place.

As for the ceiling, I would think it could be painted it with one of those spray guns.
Professional painters can paint anything ... for a price. :)

Well, I, for one, think the art is FABULOUS!!! Exquisite! Can't wait to see pics in your NEW HOME! I'm so glad it's all coming together for you -- smoothly! Textured ceilings aren't so bad to paint! Just use a cushy roller! But why don't you just have the painters come in and SPRAY while the house is empty? That's SO much easier! Get it all done at once!

I love the pictures.

from my extensive HGTV watching, those popcorn ceilings stink and would be difficult to paint unless there scraped first. But Im no Ty Pennington

OH woooowwww those paintings are gorgeous! Must check out her other stuff!!! :)

We recently bought a few more paintings for our house which will go in our new place however its to try and make it homy at ours.

Painting is a pain. I know. Rob knows! We painted this current place before we moved in. TOOK us 2 WEEKS!!!! and we still have to do bathroom and loo!!

Nice picture!

I heard (I think on one of those decorating shows) that popcorn ceilings are out. No matter, I have them all over my house and I'm not about the change them soon.

Just something to think about if you're getting some work done! I like crown mouldings and those are definitely 'in'.
