I must be the only person in the world who does not find a massage to be relaxing. Whenever I get a massage, it always hurts. Is it supposed to do that? Geesh. Here I thought that it was supposed to release tension and make your muscles feel BETTER.
I got a massage yesterday thinking, hey, I've got a vaca coming up, I don't want to spend $150 to get a massage in Hawaii, so I'll get one here. There's a new place that just opened, they're running a special 30% off their massages. So ok, I'll go there. It was not fun. Not fun at all. I am SO SORE this morning I feel like I just did a mega workout at the gym. I kept telling the guy it was too much pressure, but it still hurt. I nearly jumped off the table a few times. He kept saying he was sorry, but then kept on with the torture.
I've not had much luck with the massage thing. I got one when I was in Vegas last fall, and paid way to much for it, and it was way too LIGHT to do anything. Then, you should get my friend Irish to tell you about the massage experience in Egypt - she tells it better, but basically, I believe that Irish is now legally married to the masseuse. Lie on your back, pull your knees into your chest, and then have someone sit on your knees to stretch your back. While you have no clothes on.
