More Voting

Many of you say you enjoy reading about my travels. Well, I thought I would tell you about IGOUGO.com. I was an early contributor to this site, and all of my travels are documented here through journals. (Search for guide name: Carmen)

The reason I bring this up: I'm on a shameless campaign. You see, I was nominated for "Journal of the Year" for what I wrote about my trip to Sydney. You can go and vote for me, (scroll down about half way) but I will warn you that you have to sign up and log in to vote. Now, it costs you nothing, and should you be going to St. Lucia for your honeymoon or something (like Funny Amy), you can look up your destination and read about what others have to say on where to stay, etc.

On another writing note, for those of you aspiring novelists, November is National Novel Writing Month. Visit NaNoWriMo to sign up to write your novel in a month. I participated last year and finished my novel, which I'm now shopping around to agents. I don't think I'll start from scratch this year, because I don't have any new ideas, but I am going to make my own pledge to finish my second book (you can't enter a manuscript that you've already started) and put some serious editing time into my first book for round two of agent letters.

Congratulations on your nomination. I'll stop by and chip in!

I'll forever kick myself for not keeping a journal of my two week trip around the southwest. However, I did shoot 58 rolls of film! The processing cost more than the rental car. :)

I think it would be so fun to write a novel. I'm even hinting with the ideas ---actually for years!! Maybe someday I'll find the balls I need to actually get started.

OH!!! And I love the fact I make a great hillbilly!!! *giggles and spits 'baccy!!*

Would my autobiography qualify as a novel? "You Don't Have to Work that Hard to Get into my Pants...I'M NOT WEARING ANY!" has already been a best-seller. And it's not even done, yet (thanks to Amazon.com's pre-ordering process).

How about self-help books? I have penned a couple of those, too! "What is Happening to My Body: The Unexplored Facts and Myths Surrounding Feline Puberty" and the super-sexy "The Kama Sutra for Super-Sexy Cats--Let Your Fur Down and Wave that Freak Flag!"

Perhaps I should steer my efforts away from non-fiction. Everything I write (even on my blog) is so factual!

I just signed up for NaNoWriMo. Here I go, maiden voyage.

I'll mosey on over and vote for you too. Just because my support would be a vicarious accompaniment of your wonderful trip. Pass me a drink with the umbrella. Do they serve fruit juice in coconuts?

Well... I've tried several times to go over there, but for some reason that site does NOT want to open for me! (and I'd LIKE to check it out!) But I'll try again tomorrow - cuz of COURSE I'll vote for you!

That's a good idea about NaNo, Carmen. I've been deliberating about what to do this year, and I may have to join you in finishing that second novel.
