I Am Queen

I'm sure you all know that Janet Evanovich has a new book out - Twelve Sharp. And if you don't know, you gotta get reading her stuff. It's snort-milk-out-your-nose funny!

I just thought I'd share with you that I'm in the book! Well, my NAME is in the book. There's a character named Carmen, and while slightly crazy, she claims to be Ranger's ex-wife. I'm more of a Morelli girl myself, but I'll take what I can get. :)

I'm sure this has to do with my entry on Janet Evanovich's web site to name her 13th book. I mean, feel free to visit, but I'm sure I covered the best names in my submission. :) Ends Aug. 31 by the way.

I had a Stephanie Plum moment yesterday at the parking lot of the Tar-jay. I was behind this woman on the "street" where you turn into the parking lot. I sat behind her for several seconds, she moved up to the edge of reason when it came to pulling down the aisle that I was getting ready to pull into - leaving me enough space to pull in around her. She had no turn signal on, so I went ahead and turned in. And then she decided that she wanted the space that I had just seen, so she turned too and honked at ME! She parked right next to me and rolled down her window and was like "You scared me!" - Seriously, I've never been confronted like that before. If she'd have had a gun, I'm not sure I'd still be here. I told her that she didn't have her turn signal on, and she argued with me. I walked off saying "Turn signals are not optional, they're standard." Geesh! She had a scarf over her head, and I'm sure I heard her mumble something like I was discriminating against her. Dude, I don't discriminate by race. I discriminate by idiots! And yet, now I feel bad, even though SHE was wrong. I guess I could've walked away and said nothing.

Of course, If I'd have been in a Stephanie Plum novel, my car would've blown up or gotten run over or somehow destroyed right then. :)

Ive never read any of her stuff but I think I may need to give it a go. I really need a book to giggle at!

Odd, isn't it, how other people's unwarranted aggression can really affect your day.

Whenever I bump into someone (or someone bumps into me) on pavements, in tiny shops etc, I'm always the first to apologize. It's like a knee-jerk reaction: "Sorry!" Most times, though, I'm greeted with nasty looks. What's up with people?!?

You're up early, Miss C...

I just started on a mission of reading another series of books, but I'll get to that one as soon as I can... I might have to ditch my mission if this book doesn't get better FAST.

And other drivers scare me. Yesterday this business woman on her cell phone just had to be in front of me even though she couldn't keep up her speed and I passed her like 5 times. Every time I passed her she would speed up and pass me again...weird. And parking lots scare me. I almost had a spot yesterday but apparently there was some child exchange going on in the next space because they had all the doors open (blocking the prime space that I wanted) and car seats were all over the place.

Happy Friday! Getting my color touched up today...my hair grows entirely too fast.

TarJay is the best isn't it? You meet all sorts of rude people there. The Glary McSlowersons, the Entitled McMeevilles, the Rudy Beyondrudersons, and my favorite Mybrat Canduanithingtheywant. ersons.

Yes, how many CRV's has Stephanie gone through by now? It's like a running joke. I haven't read past Nine... and that was only 3 summers ago, so I can't believe she's up to 12. Wish I was that prolific!

"Dude, I don't discriminate by race. I discriminate by idiots!"

That is just awesome!

What I find funny about the Tar-jay incident is that she is the one who started the confrontation, and yet when you responded in an equal way, she became defensive. It's sad that you can't have a decent argument (and not some hot-headed confrontation which is no-holds-barred!) with someone without them thinking the reason you're having the conversation is because of race, ethnicity, or something else.

You're the 3rd person to give kudos to Janet Evanovich's books so I must give it a try this weekend. I need some light-hearted reading before school starts.

It irritates me that many people think turn signals are optional. Don't sweat it for saying something if she was wrong - usually the wrong ones are the most obnoxious. I would have said way more than that to her if she was rude, especially with her discrimination remark since I know real discrimination from just being a class A idiot when I see and hear it!

If Lula had been there you could have borrowed her stun gun. They work great on rude people... err... so I've *heard* anyway.

I indiscriminantly discriminate against people who think they're the only ones on the road! Good for you!

So love the Plum novels and all the cast of characters. I mean, come on, a 300 lb. ex-hooker named Lula who loves hoochie clothes? I can't remember which book it was, but when Grandma accidentally hit Stephanie's Dad with the stun gun I thought I was gonna pee my pants. Weird parking lot thing! That would bug me, too, but you didn't do anything wrong.

Ok, explain to me how you all have time for books. I love to read, but can't put the computer down for too long. The book has to be damn good...no over the top good for me not to wander back online.

As far as the person in the parking lot. Go in and buy some shaving cream or something and decorate the poor woman's vehicle. Obviously, she hasn't had a good laugh recently.
