Thursday 13 v. 16

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Thirteen Reasons Carmen Needs the Weekend
  1. No Work: I can't begin to tell you how f-ed up my work situation is at the moment, but let's just say it is.
  2. No Rain: Apparently, Virginia now has a monsoon season. My roof cannot take any more.
  3. Mini-Vaca: I'm taking Monday off (seriously, someone needs to talk with the holiday folks and make sure these things only fall on Fridays or Mondays.)
  4. Going Home: I haven't seen the 'rents in several months. I miss 'em.
  5. Hanging with Dad: I didn't get to see him on Father's Day, so I get to take him his presents and have a Daddy/Daughter day.
  6. Mom Spoiling Me: I've had a rough week, and she'll let me rest and cook for me and take care of me. And we'll get to chat all night Friday while Dad's at work.
  7. Cookouts: I live in a third-floor condo. No grills allowed on the balconies. So I don't get to eat grilled burgers very often. I have requested that we grill every night that I'm there.
  8. Milkshakes: My hometown has this retro drive-in place, and they serve THE BEST milkshakes ever. I think they're laced with crack, but I don't care.
  9. X-Men III: So I have this friend who's MIA. We were supposed to see XMEN when it was released three weeks ago. She doesn't seem to want to hang with me, so I'm hoping to talk my dad into driving 40 minutes to the closest stadium seating theater so we can see it. (Yes, folks, my hometown is also known as Podunk. But I say that in a nice way.)
  10. Rice Krispie Treats: Looks as if my diet might be taking a serious hit this weekend. Mom's making Rice Krispie Treats for me.
  11. Homemade, Southern (aka sweet) Lemonade: See what I mean? I'm going to have to do some extra gym exercises this weekend. Don't drink it you say? Are you crazy? Have you TRIED my mom's lemonade? It, too, is laced with crack. ;)
  12. Rest: I haven't been feeling well, and I'm really stressed, trying to make some big decisions (a move to another state maybe?), so I'm looking forward to rest time.
  13. Showing Off My Egypt Scrapbook: I finished the darned thing this past weekend, after going to a scrapbook convention. I always feel like I spend so much time on them, yet no one sees them. So I'll show them to my parents, my grandmom, random people off the street (it's a small town, so they'll know me.)

Sounds like you’ll have a fab weekend with loads of fab food! Forget the gym, the diet, the waistline... just enjoy the burgers, the milkshakes (mmm… milkshakes), the lemonade and whatever else your lovely Mum prepares for you the way Tom Hanks would after Castaway!

And try to clear your head... Looks like there’s a lot of change ahead in your life. I wish you all the best.
