Red is my new color

Hey all! I'm back!

Ahhh, vacations. They are the most fabulous things ever.

The Dominican Republic was quite nice. Though I do have to say that I prefer my vacations with a little more "things to do". After a few days of sitting on the beach, I'm ready to DO something. We did do some paddleboating, and also rode horseback along the beach, but we also did a lot of just sitting at the pool or beach.

We turned into crispy critters on day one. That sun is intense, even while putting lotion on every hour or so. Now I've got a fun case of sun poisoning. Sigh. Only one day was sunny, and the rest cloudy, but that was probably a good thing since we were fried.

Since the resort was all inclusive (I highly recommend the RIU properties, should that be an option for you) we ate a lot, we drank a lot, and enjoyed the free ice cream. ;) We made up for all these calories by participating in the daily water aerobics with our instructor "Puff Daddy." On our last day, I won a "crazy game" that we played after aerobics. I got a certificate and everything.

Then, boosted by a few "Miami Vice" drinks (pina colada and strawberry daquari mixed" I sang some karaoke. I haven't viewed the video yet, but if it's not TOO embarrassing, maybe I'll post it. ;)

Pooh survived without me for the first time in our new house. "The guy" came by all weekend to feed him and "bond". "The guy" left me the cutest little note welcoming be back home.

Pictures will be forthcoming. Probably for the Thursday 13.

sounds like a fun bay-k-shun Miss Carmen - well, 'cept the sun poisioning part. Mommy says she gotted that once at DisneyWerld and threw up and passed out in the buffet line at the Poly-a-nee-shun hotel there. Then she hadded to spend the rest of her trip in the hotel room.
Welcome home!

I'll have to remember that if I ever get that close to the equator to wear lots & lots of sun screen. I hope your sun poisoning passes quickly.

How neat that "the guy" took care of Pooh for you. Darly did some kitten sitting this weekend too...I've got pictures. Still waiting to hear from the owner that she's back home.

Aww! How fun to have The Guy leave you a note! I love unexpected little notes like that! I'm sure if Pooh could talk, he'd say he had a good time with The Guy! :) What better stamp of approval could you need?! :)

I've been to the Dominican a couple times and enjoyed it.

I stayed at a RUI property in Cuba and it was one of the best ever!

I know what you mean about the beach. I can't understand those people just sitting around just looking at the waves...sorry about the sun poisoning, it happens very quickly! "Miami Vice" sounds wonderful and like a complete meal!
