Update

I wanted to tell you all that I really appreciated all the good thoughts you sent my way earlier this week - without even knowing what it was for. You guys are the best people.

Your good thoughts worked!

You see, I met this guy through a social group I've joined, and we had really clicked the couple of times we'd been to the same events. We had a good time when we went out just the two of us earlier this week, but I was SOOOOPER nervous. All the signs looked good when we were together, but honestly, I have a habit of messing stuff like this up.

What I really wanted, more than anything, was to not have messed this up. A second date was my goal. And I didn't want to be the one doing the pursuing. But I have control issues, and patience issues. It was really hard to not do what I wanted to do. And I'm glad I didn't, because I got an email from him, and instead of emailing back (which would mean I'd have more waiting) I called him to respond. Now we're going to Kings Dominion on Saturday (Blogger Renee says good things about theme park dates) to enjoy the day and hopefully each other.

The goal now is a third date. So more good thoughts and prayers would help. :) I know when you look at the world sometimes, wishing for something like this seems like a minor thing. And it is a minor thing in the grand scheme, but to me, it's a bigger deal. Because there's potential there - and that doesn't come along every day.

Everyone have a wonderful weekend!

Good luck on the date! Oprah's show today is where to find single men in any city :) I'm going to watch it and maybe I'll get lucky!!!! Have fun at the theme park...those dates are fun! I agree with Renee. Keep us posted!

It's NOT a minor thing. It's a major thing... finding a mate... and one that is DEFINITELY worth praying over! I hope (and pray) that all goes well this weekend - you have a fabulous time, and a 3rd date is right around the corner! AND I pray God's hand is IN this alllllll the way!

Best wishes to you on your 2nd date! Although, seeing as I'm currently "Dateless in Detroit" (could be a new movie?), maybe my "best wishes" aren't something to be embraced???

I checked my Magic 8-Ball this morning and it said a 3rd date "...is certain."

If not, you know I can call Brad Pitt and set something up. He's always looking for a little somethin' somethin' on the side...

I went to Kings Dominion back in 1991 and I loved it!! Hopefully it hasn't changed too much. Good luck on your date!! Can't wait to read all about it!! :)

yup! That was me with the Theme Park date story. DH still teases me that I made him ride the log floom in December...it was in Florida and we had great weather...so even though he was wet, he wasn't cold. Although wet underwear isn't much fun. hee hee

But I've also heard "dating experts" say that going on a date like a theme park, someplace where you have to interact is a good way to start a relationship. Best of Luck.

It sounds like fun Carmen! Congrats to you on holding your ground. As a cat, I have no idea about patience. I want what I want now. Of course, as a cat, I get it.

I hope you enjoy yourself enough that if he wants a third date, you still do!

I don't think it's a minor thing. He could be Mr. Right and that will affect the rest of your life! Good luck!

I'm so excited for you! Honestly, you're a doll. He'd be a big dork to screw things up or even let you screw things up on his behalf. ;P~

I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that the chemistry is strong enough to get you both past the awkward phase!

So ...

... it's Sunday night, and we're dying to know how the amusement park date went.

It went well, I hope.

As many details as you are comfortable with, for those of us who are forced to live vicariously through others. ;-)
