This Says it All

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I found this sign at the most recent home show I attended. I nearly snorted my water through my nose when I saw that someone was using this sign as actual advertising (for their house foundation business.)

I didn't think this would need any commentary, until I ran into DirecTV. I signed up for DirecTV because it was less expensive than cable and because it had a TiVo-like DVR. The technicians haven't been very knowledgable, I have called the support line every single day I've owned the thing, it hasn't worked correctly YET, and you know what? They won't let me out of my contract. (It will cost me $300 to cancel) I *might* be able to write them and disput the cancelation charge. Uh, you think? If you haven't signed up for DirecTV - don't.

Happy Friday. The DirecTV tech comes again today. Cross your fingers for me. Oh, and carpet goes down today, and then I'm finished with the home projects!

I hope the DirecTV guy comes and things get fixed ok!! Sometimes you can get a good deal on a tivo, like you get the box for free and just have to pay for service for a year. I do think that the tivo interface is better than the cable companies ones, but you prolly do pay extra for it.

Don't even mention TV trouble: we have been TV-less for two days now! 24-hour call-out service actually means, "We'll try to come within the next three days". Which means I'll miss American Idol tonight. It's repeated on Sunday, but still... bogus! Hope your DirecTV guys are more helpful...

I so love that sign! I'd probably go with a company that displayed a good sense of humor like that. Good luck with the DirecTV asshats.

keep hollering at them girl...ask to speak to their supervisor until someone at that place can help you. threaten to sue them. You deserve TV!

we're stuck here...cable is required cuz they can't get the tv signals over the mountians. but the jump from basic cable ($14) to expanded annalog ($44!) is too steep for us. I refuse to pay $30 more per month so I can get maybe 4 more channels that I'll watch and have to block the others.

We have DVR and it's been giving us headaches, too. We've had to return the box 6 times already!

Glad to hear that you're almost done with the home projects. Can't wait to see photos!

So how did it go? Were the Direct TV people more helpful this time? :)

We went through something of the same thing at one point with comcast. It seems to be sort of the way the telecoms work...! Good luck and I hope that someone figures out what's supposed to be going on!

I've seen some dishes on the condos in my development. Somebody must have petitioned the Condo Ass(ociation), because they never allowed us as much as a Hallowe'en pumpkin before.

I haven't heard much praise of DTV, so I think I'll stick with Comcast for now. The Devil I know.

DirecTV is awful with setup. But, get this, they are so much better then Comcast cable once it is setup. Once they have the service, they actually dont do a bad job.
