I got word today that I was granted permission to keep my current job and move it to another city (Richmond, VA). It's good news, sort of. It forces me to make a decision. Do I stay in a city that I hate, though have developed sort of a comfort level for? If I can keep my current salary in a city that has a much lower cost of living, I could finally start to save and get myself in a better financial position. Plus, it gives me an easier way to spend time selling my house at my leisure, rather than being in a situation where I have to pay 2 mortgages or something.
I guess it's a good kick in the butt. If you're so inclined, please pray for me to make the right decision. :)

Ohh interesting decision! Best of luck with making that!!
I had no idea you were not happy where you are now. It's a good position to be in, and I'm absolutely sure you will make the right decision. Just remember to take Pooh Bear with you!
This sounds like a solid opportunity from what you've said, but it is a lot to think about. I have no doubt you will choose wisely, grasshopper, but pray for you nonetheless I will. ;)
Praying for you today!
Blessings

I think the guy factor would be helping me pack right about now... LOL
I'll pray over it, too. I hope whatever decision you make, it brings you peace. No stress. Moving stress sucks.
Richmond is a nice place. But I know what you mean about being comfortable where you are. Then again, if you hated it, you could just quit your job, move back and start over, right?
That's quite a conundrum (that's my word of the week btw... I try to squeeze it into as many sentences as I can...). A wise woman once typed...if you always do what you've always done,
You will always be where you've always been. I don't know how helpful that is... but there you go. :)
Best of luck with the decision... hope everything works out for you & Pooh.
Purrs...
I'm so inclined to pray and got you covered babe. I'm praying that God makes you sure whatever the decision turns out to be. I'm in shock and awe that anyone could outshine my little star. Your twinkle factor is so great your sis needs a drink just to be in the same room!
Richmond? That's only a couple hours from here. Yup - that's a good reason to move.. to be closer to me!!

I am definately sending up some prayers for you ... and though this seems like a No Brainer to me... I'm sure it IS a difficult decision for YOU! (involving much more than you've just mentioned...) You WILL make the right decision though -- but even if you make the wrong one - you'll turn it IN to the right one! ;)
I wish you the best of luck! Is Richmond closer to your family? That might help in the decision too, maybe :-) You will make the right decision!
How's the house selling market in your area? In your building? Are they moving or just sitting? And how long are they sitting?
Ask yourself if you can afford 2 house payments for that long.
For me it's not a problem to move as I've been doing it so frequently. But I know that many folks dont move every 2 to 4 years and aren't used to it.
I will pray that God leads you to the decision that is will being you the most happiness and the most prosperity.
Perhaps you can room with someone in Richmond while you wait for your place to sell.
I'm sure you will make the right decision.
Listen to your gut, it knows.
Sounds like Richmond is a good choice for you! Congrats and good luck making a decision :-)
I read your later post before this one...so, Richmond, aye? Hmmm, I think it sounds like a winner since you seem to like Richmond better, may be closer to family, will have less city hatred, plus the benefits of keeping your existing job and not having to worry about two mortgages!
Trust your instincts, and don't be afraid to take calculated risks. Good luck!
Sounds like a no-lose situation. Good luck.
whoa. that's kinda cool. i miss the east coast like crazy. good luck.
Richmond has improved, though make sure they arent going to adjust the salary to fit the cost of living.
