Something to Think About

I saw a few movies last weekend. The Lake House (save your money) and Akeelah and the Bee. The movie was good, but there was this quote that they read in the movie which really struck me. I'm trying to memorize it so I can recall it as needed.

Our deepest fear
Is not that we are inadequate
Our deepest fear
Is that we are powerful beyond measure
We ask ourselves
Who am I to be
Brilliant
Gorgeous
Talented
and Fabulous
Actually, who are you not to be?
We were born to make manifest
the glory of God that is within us.
As we let our own light shine
We unconciously give other people
Permission to do the same.

Um...no. My deepest fear is that I'm inadequate.

Or is that my most glaring awareness?

Nice and affirming quote, Carmen! I'm making a note of it so that when I get emotionally healthy someday, I can say it. ;)

That IS a beautiful quote! But far too long to memorize and recall as needed! Best to be posted in a prominant spot where it will be noticed regularly!

Oh... and thanks for that gmail tip! I'm gonna do it!

I feel compelled to sing now...

He's got the whole world in his hands,
He's got the whole wide world in his hands,
He's got the whole world in his hands,
He's got the whole world in his hands!

I hope my light isn't too bright. I can always dim it a little if it is. ;)

from Darly: If I tell you what I'm getting mom, she's so nosey she'll find it and know what I'm getting for her! So, sorry. You'll have to wait until after Christmas when she posts her Christmas Loot post...maybe.

I didn't mind "The Lake House". It's not the awesomist movie I've ever seen, though.

I believe that in a book Debbie Ford credited that to Marianne Williamson, alhtough the Woman saw a poster with that quote and full speach (it just gets better) to Nelson Mandela. If you ever need the full quote to recall, I think checking those folks out would be wonderful--you know as blogger loves to eat that which we love...
