She's Ba-ack!

Hey everybody. I hope your Turkey Day was filled with lots of good food and fun.

My weekend was pretty nice. I got to spend time with the family. My mom's famous dressing balls were awesome, as usual.

I came back home late Saturday night, because my sister upset me and because I wanted to sleep in my own bed. Why is it that the people you love can hurt you the most? She's quite good at it.

Sunday I spent most of the day decorating my tree. It's a new "theme" this year - mostly snowmen. It's beautiful! I'm so pleased with it. I did a fantastic job with putting the lights on the tree - a task I'm not so fond of. I saw a show on tv that taught me how to put the lights on properly (don't just wind around the tree, weave in and out along the branches, so there are lights near the edges and within the tree, giving it "depth".)

I'm having a Holiday Open Blog this weekend, starting Friday. I hope you'll come back and participate!

Sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Show us a picture of your tree :)

I know all about how siblings hurt you the most as I'm oldest of five in my family. Believe me, Carmen: If I could have somehow come home early, I think I would have at certain points as well!

Happy Thanksgiving to you! Looking forward to the open blog event!

I'll have to check out this open blog. It's good to see you back. Fortunately I am not in contact with any of my siblings!

By the way, Zeus is the Reason for my Season--of course I'd have been here anyway to see that you made it back from your trip.

Dressing balls...snort! You said "dressing balls!"

I'm so ridiculous and easily amused.

Mornin' Carmen ---well, wait!! By now it's afternoon for you. So, afternoon Carmen!!!

Glad you enjoyed your mom's cooking, and had a pleasant time (mostly anyway) with your family. I truly can understand how some in a family can be. I lived it so many years with 4 other siblings, and much favoritism a lot, that it can be so hurtful. Not that I'm saying there was favoritism....well, you know. I DO understand. Makes one just want to get away from it all.

I and hubby did our tree on Thanksgiving. I still haven't shopped for anything...usually I have it done way before, but not this year. Can't get into the mode yet....maybe your open house for the holidays here at your blog will get my spirits flowing!!!

Happy Monday.
Glad to see you're back to your home safely...Pooh? I bet your were missed ...little Pooh needs your company. :o)

Sisters are particularly adept at hurting feelings, for some reason. But they can also be the best at soothing them too.

I'm glad you had a good weekend, and good job with the tree! I'm a huge slacker and bought a pre-lit tree...

Uh hello?? Where's the picture of your gorgeous tree?? Or are you waiting for Wordless Wednesday? I want to see it! Sorry your Thanksgiving ended on a sour note. That has happened between my brother and me before, too. Sucks. Hope it blows over.

I finally got my candy cane lights up. I have a big stack of snowflake lights to hang on my porch though. I'd post a pic, except I have nowhere to post now.

You're right, family can cut us the deepest. Fortunately, though, they usually forgive the deepest as well.

We need some pics of this new lighting technique, girl. Glad you're back!

Ahhh! So you're one of those who put the tree up early,eh? lol. We had a stretch of mild weather here (michigan) and everyone was out hanging lights on their houses before the snow hits (this Thurs) I don't get too much into the season as far as decor, I usually buy a potted tree and plant it later in the spring. I'd like to see your tree with the snowmen (snow women too?) and the new and improved light scheme. Happy to hear you had some quality time with the dressing balls..lol.

those that we love have the ability to hurt us the deepest, because they know us so well.

We want pictures, we want pictures!

Welcome back. Sorry to see your Cavaliers got shut out. But, take heart -- basketball season is here!

Maybe the reason those we love (family mostly) hurt us the most is because we expect their unconditional love. When we are faced with conflict, it shocks us a little. With friends, we can choose others, but family is permanent.

This concludes the psycho-babble portion of my comments!

Oy... family conflicts... sorry. We've had some doozies in MY family (my siblings -- not my children) and as it turns out irreparable damage has been done. I hope that NEVER happens to you! I hope somebody has sense enough to apologize and someone else has the heart to forgive. ALWAYS! I'm glad ya got to enjoy mom's stuffing balls though! Hey... that WAS the important part - right?

So... you didn't meet with Daisy? Or did you?

My blogger buddy Kimmyk has left me with a chore. Check my blog for the "rules" and consider yourself tagged.

Either it will be a fun exercise or you will rue the day we became blogger buddies.

What in the world are dressing balls? Educate me!! I'm extremely mentally challenged!!

I'm so sorry to hear that your sister hurt your feelings. It makes me feel like kicking ass!! :(

I hope you are OK now and that she does some MAJOR begging of forgiveness. Then you can show her what it means to be a nice, decent, human being.

Glad you got back safely. I want to see photos of the tree!!
