Pooh's Ponderings

Hello again blog world. I'm baaaa-aaaaack.

The Woman said I could post again, because mostly I just kept sitting on the mouse and keyboard until I ran her off. She's on the computer too much anyway - the big nerd.

I can see the draw of blogging though. It's really addictive. All those people reading what I write. It's a power trip.

I've been really confusing The Woman lately. Usually, I'm quite standoffish. I like to be in the same room as people, but I don't want them all up in my business. Two seconds of petting and THAT's IT! However, lately, I've been feeling really cuddly. Even rubbing up on guests that I usually run away from. The Woman says I've been stuck to her like glue since she got back from Las Vegas. She's always wanted a lap cat, so I thought I'd humor her for a while. Plus, maybe if I make her feel guilty, she won't go away anymore.

I've also developed a bit of a limp. I like to change legs so that The Woman gets all confused. I do this so she won't take me to the vet. She's really starting to get worried about me, though.

I've also spent a lot of time sitting in sunbeams warming my fur, and also watching the blowing leaves out of the window. I like to chirp at them. The Woman will bring one in the house, but they don't move when they're inside, so they hold no interest for me. Though I'll sit on them if you leave them on the floor long enough. I will sit on anything that's left on the floor, to claim it as my own.

The Woman has been under the weather lately. I hate it when she feels bad, because then I feel bad, too. (I especially hate it when she cries, and I'll start wailing along with her). However, because she's tired, she spends a lot more time in a vertical position on the couch and I can cuddle and nap with her. I purr so loud that I can make other close-by objects vibrate. (Think the cup of water in Jurassic Park!)

Well, I'm off to bury myself in the laundry pile on the floor. Peace out!

Pooh Bear, I'm glad you are taking care of the Woman while she's under the weather. It's nice of you to cuddle with her even if it's not your favorite thing. you might want to get those legs checked out. They are tricky things and you don't want something bad to happen! Enjoy the leaves outside because pretty soon they will be gone! Oh and give the Woman a break every once in a while too, okay?

Question for Pooh: I'm puzzled by the subtle changes in personality. When he was younger, my guy wanted nothing to do with the cuddling stuff.
Now, at 16, he's Mr. Smooch. Follows me around, sits where I sit and generally acts like my furry little buddy. It started about 2 years ago.
Not that I'm complaining, but why the big change?

I hope The Woman is feeling better.

Pooh Bear says: Give the Woman a break? Surely you jest Amy. I have very little to do, so torturing her is my only entertainment

Anthony, we cats are fickle creatures. Perhaps as I age, I get a bit more mellow.

The Woman is feeling a bit better. The time change with all the darkness makes her much more tired. But I take advantage

Pooh, it sounds like you've got it all figured out. You are playing The Woman like a fiddle...I'm so proud it brings a tear to my eye.

Don't get too comfortable being a lap cat. She'll start relying on it and it's not good to become too predictable!

Purr on!

Hey, friends of my Miss Kitty would LOVE to drop some gifts on your doorstep any day. They keep bringing my Miss Kitty little "presents". She's not falling for it, though. Good kitty. ;)

Pooh, your just suckering her in during the cold weather months. Miss Kittie has not moved from her "microfiber" blanket on the couch this week, because shes so darned cozy. And she is able to claim half the couch all to herself.

Pooh! So good to hear from you again. You take the best pictures, I swear you like to pose you little flirt. I'm so sorry to hear your Woman isn't feeling like herself. Sounds like you're in the same boat. I hope you can comfort each other.

Very hansome picture of you Pooh! And "Good Kitty" for taking care of your woman. I'm gonna talk to The Woman now...k?

Carmen: Yeah, she's getting a taste of how uncomfortable bras are already as she is pretty sensitive to tags & seams...so the bra will probably only stay on for very short intervals for now. I think that she'll be like me and not really need one for another 5 years or so. I figure there's no harm in her getting used to it slowly.

Personally I wanna throw mine out the window! ;)

My Fido only cuddles when it's cold out. Maybe it's weather related Pooh and you just don't realize it!

Pooh says:
Kukka, don't you worry. I'm taking lessons from you! the Woman reads me your blog, and I take notes!

Chatoic: What kind of presents? Do I want to know?

Sparky and Jenn, well, it has only been cold here for about 2 weeks, and I've been kissing up for about 2 months. I can't even sit in my microfiber bed yet - it's too hot!

Renee: This is why cats are smart enough not to wear bras. Although sitting on them is fun, and I "killed" one of the Woman's once. Carried it around like a prize.

Katherine: I do liketo pose for photos. But only for a short time. Then I get cranky. The woman has learned to keep the camera close by.

Pooh! Can you hear me under the laundry pile?!?! If you blow on the leaf the Woman brings in it'll move just like it does outside. That, or you could just have the Woman move it around for your viewing enjoyment.

Handsome pic, Pooh.

I can no longer take pictures of Pablo, as he has violent spasms anytime I hold the camera near his tank. He must have had a bad camera experience during his plastic bowl Wal-Mart days.

High Paws POOH!!! Hi Carmen! I'm on my lunch break and have about 3 minutes before getting back 'on the clock'!! Long time no see! I've taken a few days from blog visiting to get some redecorating work done, and I'm sore today. But since I saw Your Woman visit with me, I thought I'd come by and leave you a purrrr-fect pet on the behind and a few ear scratches myself!!

Tell The Woman to get lots better real soon!

And keep the vibrations down a bit! I hear that and then our kitties say "MUST go faster!!" (Like Jeff Goldblum IN Jurassic Park....hehehehehe)

Happy Monday to you both...PS--BEAUTIFUL window picture below for SPHunt Photo.

Ohhhhhh Pooh! You are such a sweety! You shnuggle up and lay on The Woman's face... cuz then she won't be able to cry! Or breathe... Anyway... you take such good care of her! Don't limp too much though... she really WILL have to box you up and take you to the evil vet if you keep it up! Best to find a safer way to mess with her!

Why is The Woman not feeling well? Maybe she needs a belly rub or something! Hope she's feeling chipper again soon!

Hi Pooh. I'm approaching mid-life now, and I have also come to the conclusion that maybe sitting next to my humans is not going to do me any harm either. I mean, I've been watching them for nine years now, and really, the times they tried to grab me and shove me in the carrier box to take me to the vet or the cattery (pwah, a pox on them both) can be counted on the claws of a couple of paws. And my presence seems to make them happy, which makes them more inclined to give me fresh fish, I think...

Hi. Thanks for visiting my blog :0) My cat, Bob always sits on me when I am upset or ill, otherwise he sits next to me. I call it purr therapy. Hope it helps and you feel better soon!. Btw - great pic of Pooh.

Pooh Bear! I hope that you start feeling better. That limp thing--good mix up--you get sympathy but no Vet! You go.
